Greensill Capital has recruited Robert Pooles (pictured, right) from Transport for London (TfL) to take on the role of director, origination.
Pooles was previously head of cash and accounts receivable at the transport network which encompasses London Underground and London Buses. At the recent Taulia Connect Europe event, he gave a presentation on TfL’s decision to offer supply chain finance to all its suppliers. Taulia was selected as the technology platform while Greensill Capital gave TfL the option of using third-party cash instead of its own.
Before joining TfL in 2014 Pooles spent almost nine years in a variety of treasury roles at Vodafone.
Lex Greensill, founder and chief executive of Greensill Capital, said, “Robert’s senior treasury experience in the private and public sector, at Vodafone and Transport for London, is invaluable to the firm and to our clients. Understanding the client journey from beginning to end is crucial to delivering the best supply chain finance and working capital solutions in the market. Robert adds breadth and depth to that understanding at Greensill, further cementing the firm’s market leading status.”
