A South African pharmacy chain, a Swedish retailer and a U.S. manufacturer are among the shortlisted companies for the 2018 Supply Chain Finance Awards, sponsored by ING.

The companies are among seven entries to make the shortlist, from a record 30 entries from across the world, chosen by an independent panel of judges. The winners for each of six categories, as well as the ‘best of the best’ overall Gold Award winner, will be revealed at the SCF Forum conference at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam on 29th November 2018.

This is the third year of the Awards, which are backed by the Supply Chain Finance Community. “This was a breakthrough year for the SCF Awards,” said Prof. Dr Michael Henke, co-chair of the judging panel. “It is especially pleasing to see entries from so many different countries, demonstrating how supply chain finance is helping to fund supply chains across the world.”

As well as Henke, the judging panel included a mix of treasury, procurement and academic names. They were: Michiel Steeman, director of the SCF Community, Andrea Buralli, Group Operations Sourcing Director (CPO) at Luxottica Group; Matthieu Landmann, Controller at Nestrade S.A; and Mikko Vainikka, Director, Treasury Operations, at Metso.

The full shortlist is:

  • Crown Commercial Service (UK)
  • Dischem Pharmacies (South Africa)
  • Hillenbrand (USA)
  • ICA Group (Sweden)
  • Kuehne & Nagel (Germany)
  • Philips (Netherlands)
  • Siemens (Germany)

Some of the shortlisted entries, including Crown Commercial Service and Kuehne & Nagel, are already speaking at the SCF Forum, while others are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
