TradeIx, developer of the TradeIX platform, the first open blockchain system for trade finance, has opened an office in Singapore and announced two key appointments.
Eugene Buckley is appointed business development executive, Asia Pacific and will oversee the development of client relationships in the region. Buckley has 15 years of experience in trade finance and financial markets, most recently as head of trade innovation and alliances at Standard Chartered Bank.
Leon Scott takes on the post of head of APAC operations and will oversee the delivery of TradeIX solutions and projects to clients in the region as well as the growth of existing trade finance activities and relationships. Scott has a strong background in trade and commodities finance, banking and supply chain management and most recently was a director at PrimeRevenue with responsibility for the company’s global capital markets product.
TradeIX’s new office is located in Singapore’s financial district and will integrate all primary origination, operations and support services for the region. The company said that setting up in Singapore is part of its global development plan for “rewiring the $8 trillion trade finance market”.
